Lambda Boulé Centennial Celebration
and Foundation Fundraiser
2021 marked 100 years of membership and fellowship in Columbus, Ohio for the Archons of Lambda Boulé. Over these years, Lambda has been a key contributor and active progressive organization in the in Central Ohio community, though most of those years its community leadership, service and philanthropy was intentionally not visible. However, many of Columbus' finest African American male leaders were members of, and supported by, the Lambda Boulé Archons of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity.
In the last decade, Lambda Boulé, as well most memberships of Sigma Pi Phi across the country, have became more visible in the communities they lead.
Due to the pandemic in 2020 and through 2022, Lambda Boulé was unable to celebrate its Centennial. Now that the world is closer to normal, we are ready to launch our celebration of 100 years serving Columbus!
We invite all to participate and keep an eye out for our September 2024 Centennial Anniversary. Your active participation is necessary to make this a special Celebration!

Centennial Fundraiser Vision and Purpose
Our primary aim is to secure funding to support Black and Minority youth within the Columbus community through our Social Action Programs, which are specifically designed to assist disadvantaged and low-income students. These programs encompass a range of initiatives, including college scholarships, elementary mentoring, social justice advocacy, support for youth musicians, and more.
To commemorate our post Centennial Celebration in September 2024, we have planned a series of events:
Though our 100th Anniversary was in 2021, the Centennial Celebration was delayed on several occasions due to the pandemic. Therefore, we are focused on celebrating in 2024 and making it an event to be memorialized.
During our Pe-Gala Opening Ceremony, we will reflect on our 100-year history and the significant impact we have had on shaping Central Ohio. This event will serve as a testament to our commitment to social progress and community empowerment.
The highlight of our Centennial Gala will be a showcase of our community work, recognition of scholar recipients, and tribute to our member trailblazers who have made lasting contributions to Black Columbus over the past century. Notable elements of the Gala include:
The Gala will feature a keynote address by renowned speaker and professor Michael Eric Dyson, known for his insightful perspectives on race, social justice, and contemporary culture.
Throughout the event, we will showcase our historical and ongoing projects throughout Central Ohio, highlighting our dedication to community service and empowerment. The evening will culminate in a memorable dinner and celebration, promising an experience that will be cherished for years to come.
Our objective is to exceed a fundraising goal of $300,000 for the Lambda Foundation, enabling us to expand our reach and bolster support for our Social Action Programs aimed at disadvantaged and low-income students.
